Ken Worsley at
Japan Economy News & Blog put together a great event for us bloggers, friends, significant others, and the readers who make our efforts worthwhile. I also got to move several bloggers to my “I’ve met” list. I take this opportunity to note that two of them were featured in
Andrew Leonard’s fine Salon column. Congrats. Japan-heavy, English-language blogs rarely receive notice in the mainstream media. It couldn’t have happened to two nicer people.
Great to finally meet you in person, Jun! Thanks for the shout-out.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure too. Too bad we had so little time to talk.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming Jun! I wish we had more time to talk, but there was almost a bit too much going on...
ReplyDelete...which creates demand for more...and that's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteLovely time. Here's that link you might (and your readers) might find interesting if you ever want some dirt on UK politics - http://www.order-order.com/
ReplyDeleteMarc Francois, Dominic Grieve, and Eric Pickles... lovely names!
ReplyDeleteLovely names, not so lovely people. Let's not forget the current Chancellor of the Exchequer (finance minister) Alistair Darling. Reporters love shouting out "Darling, Darling" to get a quote from him.
ReplyDeleteMy all-time favorite real English-language name, though, is June Jones, the American football coach. There's a name I came across in Brazil that I definitely would not want to have on my passport, but it's a German name, so it doesn't really qualify.
ReplyDeleteToo bad we couldn't catch up at the party Jun. Next time I am in Tokyo we can meet and I will buy you a drink. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWait, your profile says "Location: Canada". Oh well, next time.
