Notice

Please ignore the preceding post, and several subsequent ones. They are copies of posts that I am deleting because they have been taken over by blog spammers. I have reported them to Blogspot, but nothing has been done to eliminate them. Blogspot should take measures to enable bloggers to block selectively, but in the meantime, this is the best that I can do.

ADD: Please ignore above. Problem solved; as noted in the comments.

What's more annoying: spammers or trolls? Discuss.

Spammers on the PC, trolls under the bridge; pick your poison.

Actually, I looked around the settings and found the word verification feature and activated it. Embarrassingly late to the game, but it seems to have solved the blogspam problem, knock on wood.

And seriously, trolls are not a problem for this less-visited blog. On the few occasions that I have received hostile posts, I have either apologized for my errant ways (rarely), or used the occasion to try to rip their faces off (figuratively). They inspire me, which means, I think, that I am a jerk at heart. (Maybe Mellifluous Knish has a point.) And since people usually put less effort into comments (as opposed to posts), it's relatively easy to beat down your opponents. Besides, since it's my blog, it's not that difficult to have the last word. Keep responding, and they'll give up. At which point, I raise my hands in solitary glory, and give myself a swig of whiskey for a hard-fought victory.

A belated thanks to you, t. I haven't had any problems since then, but thank you again for your concern.
