Look here for Christopher Walken's 2008 campaign.
You don’t believe it? You think it’s some kind of a joke?
Me? I think it’s obvious.
ADD (February 22): It dawned on me that this post makes no sense to people who have not seen Mr. Walken in one of his figures-of-authority roles that he plays so well. My bad. I should have posted it on the Cryptic blog. Needless to say, it is in no way intended as a commentary on the substance of the primary race.

Actually, if it just came down to simple coolness, he'd be the natural winner (though a runoff between Walken and Samuel Jackson would be harder).
And we could have Jean Reno as the French president, Max von Sydow as the Swedish Prime minister, and Kumi Koda as leader of LDP (hey, it can't get any worse).
Nelson Mandela would make a much better stand-in for Barack Obama. I can’t think of anybody offhand that looks like Mr. Sarkozy, and I have no idea what the Swedish Prime Minister looks like. But I do think that Stephen King (or John Major) would be a fine look-alike for Prime Minister Fukuda.
Ah, my train of thought was a bit different: an actor from the country in question whose signature character roles would make for an interesting country leader. Not good ..interesting.
Thus Reno (extremely pragmatic assassin), and Sydow (The Exorcist, and lots of angsty authority figures in Bergman movies) and well, Kumi Koda at the helm of LDP would make for lots of interesting stuff for you to blog about :)
If Mr. Walken plays US President to character, he will be more than interesting, he will be borderline insane.
No comments on the other characters; they're your responsibility.
