Surprise (to me, at least)!
President: Barack Obama, Protestant1. If Barack Obama is the Jackie Robinson of presidential politics, does that make Mitch McConnell the Congressional version of Kevin Love?
Speaker of the House: John Boehner, Catholic
House Majority Leader: Eric Cantor, Jewish
House Minority Leader: Nancy Pelosi
Senate Majority Leader: Harry Reid, Mormon
Senate Minority Leader: Mitch McConnell, Protestant
2. Is it a tough call for the Klu Klux Klan or what?

Do you mean Paul Ryan (as far as I know, Ron Paul wasn't picked.) Love your blog, keep up the good work!
Today’s WikiLeaks cable is not greatest one so…
Dear Piglet,
I demand that you immediately tell the world what my government has been doing to me and I demand that you answer the questions that you have been refusing to answer.
As for today’s cable…

In the run up to the 2007 Party Congress in China, Simon Schuchat, the Acting Consul General in Shanghai, declared that, “The feathers are flying.” The various factions within the Communist Party were duking it out for spots on the Politburo and the PBSC. One observer called the fighting “complicated” and “violent.” Hui Liangyu was the leading candidate to replace Huang Ju but there was significant opposition to that move. People didn’t like Hui because of his close relationship with Jiang Zemin. In addition, it appears that Hui did all sorts of corrupt things while in Anhui. The CDIC investigated him at one point. Jiang was not a popular person within the Communist Party, apparently. At a July 15 meeting, Qiao Shi pilloried him for trying to fix the nominees for the PBSC.
“You’ve been retired for five years!” exlaimed Qiao. “How can you presume to be trying to arrange the new Politburo Standing Committee?”
Ouch.
Qiao accused Jiang of packing the PBSC with his corrupt supporters (e.g. Huang Ju and Chen Liangyu) during the 16th Party Congress.
“We cannot allow you to do this again!,” yelled Qiao.
Touche.
This of course did not make Jiang happy.
Just wanted to see if you were paying attention, Van. Kidding. Actually, it's not the first time I got the two mixed up. Thanks.
